Alonso is a Spanish qualified lawyer and member of the Madrid Bar Association. He has worked and gained experience in various jurisdictions, including Spain, Indonesia and Malaysia. Additionally, he has worked for a Hong Kong based institution, managing the business development. While his studies are focused on international private and public law, Alonso also has knowledge of finance and stock markets.
Alonso has experience in both civil and common law systems, especially on alternative dispute resolution of construction and engineering matters, and domain name disputes. Alonso has been engaged in different legal related conferences, training courses and talks in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Haikou, Bangkok, Manila and Seoul. Further, Alonso was the co-chair and co-creator of the AIAC Young Practitioners Group, an international platform for young lawyers.
Currently, he is working on disputes related to commercial and investment arbitrations, where he gives advice to clients in complex procedures before institutions such as the ICC or ICSID, in addition to ad hoc procedures under the UNCITRAL Rules.
Alonso works in Spanish and English, is fluent in French and German and has a basic command of Indonesian and Malay.
