Alonso is a Spanish qualified lawyer focused on international arbitration. He is an MCIArb and member of the Madrid Bar Association. Furthermore, he has experience in both common and civil law systems, as he has worked in Indonesia, Malaysia and Spain. Additionally, Alonso worked for an ADR and ODR Hong Kong based institution.
Currently, he is participating in arbitration disputes before institutions such as the ICC, LCIA, PCA or CAM. Moreover, he has assisted in ad hoc procedures under the UNCITRAL Rules. He is specialized in the alternative dispute resolution of construction, oil and gas, energy, and engineering matters and he is also certified by HKIAC as Tribunal Secretary. Likewise, he is empanelled as Tribunal Secretary under HKIAC and ACICA.
His professional experience and knowledge of comparative international law has enabled him to deliver talks, workshops, and trainings in cities such as Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila o Seoul. He also was the co-founder and co-chair of an international platform for your practitioners (AIAC YPG).
Alonso works in Spanish and English, has intermediate knowledge of French and German, and has a basic command of Indonesian, Malay and Chinese (普通话) (HSK2 certificate).
