Professional experience
Roberto Carlos Hermida graduated from the Law School of the University of Buenos Aires in 1979. He has extensive experience in arbitration and international law. He has been practicing law for 42 years, in Commercial Law, Insurance Law, International Law, and Arbitration. Since 2017, he is representative of the Civil and Commercial Court of Arbitration (CIMA), in the Republic of Argentina, in order to promote activities aimed at the development of National and International Commercial Arbitration in the region.
Among others, he has been Counselor at the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Washington DC, United States of America and among the functions assigned to him, he acted with the Argentine Treasury Attorney's Office in the defense of the country before the ICSID Arbitration Tribunals. Between 2002 and 2003 Roberto was a consultant for the World Bank, coordinating the project of Pension Reform in Honduras, and directed the training of the body of inspectors of the Superintendence of Insurance and Pensions of Honduras. He has also been an advisor to the Honorable Senate of Argentina, in the Transportation and Fuels Commissions.
