FIDIC, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers, has published a Guidance Memorandum to help Parties to a FIDIC contract to consider mutually satisfactory solutions and avoid disputes arising between them that may arise as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This Guidance Memorandum has been drafted in isolation of any specific legal system or jurisdiction. FIDIC does not give legal advice and cannot assist in the interpretation of individual contracts. The legal interpretation of each contract will depend upon such matters as the precise wording of the various documents comprising the particular contract, as well as upon the governing law. Parties to a FIDIC contract are therefore recommended to seek specific advice (legal advice in particular) before taking actions and making decisions.

The Memorandum can be found under this link: FIDIC COVID 19 Memorandum .
